Our Story.

A TIPPING POINT
With the largest youth population in history, there is an unprecedented opportunity for young people to take an active role in shaping the future. This generation has inherited enormous global challenges, but has the ability to confront the status quo and offer youth-led solutions for change.

A GRASSROOTS NETWORK
Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is an independent network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional, and global challenges. With more than 14,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 456 city-based hubs in 150 countries.

YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WITH EXCEPTIONAL POTENTIAL & ENERGY
Shapers are highly motivated individuals in theirs 20s & 30s who are exceptional in their potential, achievements, and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. Global Shapers show great potential for future leadership roles in society.
They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference.
Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel their tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.

The Global Shapers Community is one of the multi-stakeholder communities at the World Economic Forum. Other communities include the Young Global Leaders, the Global Agenda Councils, and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs.

THE LAUNCH OF THE MALMÖ HUB
Our hub was launched in 2019 by a group of young professionals committed to bringing positive change efforts to the region of Skåne. We are here to ensure that Malmö-based change-makers under 30 have a forum for collaboration with other stakeholders to maximise the impact of our actions.

Friends of the Hub.

Friends of the Hub act as supporters of our hub in weathering current challenges and identifying future opportunities. These Friends are not responsible for the governance of our hub nor do they represent current Global Shapers. With Friends of the Hub, we aim to gather subject matter specialists, Global Shapers supporters, and key stakeholders in Malmö in order to offer expertise, guidance, and business insights for the strategic governance of the Malmö Hub and create an informed sounding board for projects and management.
